With the desire to highlight emerging filmmakers and foster connections with their audiences, RECIF offers several selections.
International “Emergence” Selection : dedicated to first and second feature films, offering a window onto contemporary cinema. Creating a debut film is a demanding journey, from the first spark of a screenplay idea to recognition by professionals and the public. These committed works often touch on the personal and intimate, and are the result of a long creative process.
Pacific Selection : thirteen short films are presented in competition. Discover productions from New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, and even Easter Island.
Always Shorter : an invitation to make short fiction films – funny, inventive, creative, and thought-provoking.
Young Talents : discover the work of young filmmakers from New Caledonia under the age of twenty, with films made independently, in schools, or as part of specialized workshops.
Caledonian program : a selection of clips and short films from the country, several of which reflect an environmental awareness.
Young Audiences : for budding cinephiles, a selection of five short films based on tales and legends from around the world, including one inspired by a story from Papua New Guinea. A treat for the whole family!
The program for the 2026 edition will be unveiled in October.

While remaining true to its editorial focus on emerging cinema and first and second features, RECIF offers schools a thematic film program centered on the tropical rainforest, its richness, and the threats it faces.
